Traveling with Powders
Did You Know? Powder products, like this dry shampoo, can be placed in your carry-on bag if needed. Only powder substances greater than 12 oz. / 350 mL are required to be placed in a separate bin for X-ray screening. However, TSA still encourages us to place non-essential powders in checked bags for everyones’ convenience. The final decision still rests with the TSA officer on whether an item is allowed through the checkpoint. Whenever possible, we think the best option is to pack your dry shampoo (and any other large powder products) in a plastic zip-lock bag in your checked bag instead. Just in case your bag isn’t handled with care, you won’t get dry shampoo all over your clothes!
